Mitsubishi – Still A Contender

I once worked with a gentleman who said his wife worked at Colt Cars in England. I can recall saying "who the devil are they!I guess this was a little rude but I though I had heard of most car manufactures and I didn’t know these guys. Luckily he ignored my rudeness and explained that Colt Cars were a joint venture with Mitsubishi Motors, who I had heard of, and were established largely for the purposes of importing and distributing Mitsubishi vehicles in the UK.

I had forgotten that Britain used to have strict import quotas on foreign vehicles in a vain attempt to protect British manufacturers from the threat to their market from foreign imports. It wasn’t until the British public realised that British cars were in fact useless that they started buying foreign cars by the thousand which spelled the end of the road for the majority of UK manufacturers, sad but true.

There was a small backlash from people of a certain generation against buying foreign cars particularly Japanese ones but when their Morris Maxi’s and Marinas finally rusted into oblivion they begrudgingly grasped the nettle and now wouldn’t be seen driving anything other than a Micra or Yaris or indeed a Mitsubishi Colt.

Mitsubishi have had mixed fortunes over the years with some successful models and of course you can’t really mention Mitsubishi without talking about their successes with the Ralliart division and the whole Evolution phenomenon. Apart from this Mitsubishi history is fairly complex and they have in the past formed alliances with companies which you would not have expected such as Volvo and Chrysler.

Mitsubishi Corporation is a huge concern in Japan of which Mitsubishi Motors are a subsidiary of and with a history that dates back as far as 1917. The Mitsubishi logo (the three diamonds) is over one hundread years older than Mitsubishi motors. It was chosen by Yataro Iwasaki who was the founder of Mitsubishi. Apparently this represented the badge of the Tosa Clan which had first employed him and his own family emblem was three diamonds. The name Mitsubishi is an amalgamation of Mitsu ("three") and Hishi (literally meaning "water chestnut", which is often used in Japanese to denote a diamond or rhombus).

Mitsubishi are currently the seventh largest car manufacturer in Japan and seventeenth in the world which puts them as fairly large but not huge by any standards. Mitsubishi’s main problem has been a lack of models to choose from but in the last few years they have worked hard to address this and now have a fairly large range covering most sectors of the market.

After working with Chrysler since the 1970’s Mitsubishi were then involved with Daimler Chrysler until around 2005. They have also had alliances with Proton and Hyundai but now after some quite drastic financial reorganisation the company seems to be more settled and were able to reveal the award winning I model in 2006. The new Mitsubishi Lancer has been received favourably and Mitsubishi has joined up with PSA Peugeot Citroen to produce the 4007 and C-Crosser which are SUV vehicles based on the Mitsubishi Outlander. The actual Outlander has superior fuel economy and lower C02 emissions than anything else in its class.

The Shogun or Pajero whose name is rumoured to be rude in Spanish is another vehicle which has ensured Mitsubishi’s success over the years. The latest version is far more refined and is now pitched at the luxury SUV market.

A lesser known fact about Mitsubishi is that Jackie Chan has had a long association with the company so with him on their side I guess they will always be a contender!

Ford – Shaken But Not Stirred

Like a lot of car manufacturers Ford has struggled financially in recent years and has been forced to sell a number of major assets in an attempt to return to profitability.

During this time the company has seen its market position fall in 2007 from the World’s second largest car manufacturer, a position it had previously held for some 56 years, to become third placed behind Toyota and General Motors respectively. To make things worse Ford then dropped to fourth place behind Volkswagen.

Ford underwent some rather rapid restructuring as a result and has jettisoned its two quality brands Jaguar and Land Rover to the Indian car manufacturer TATA Motors. It has also sold Aston Martin to a consortium of businessmen led by Prodrive Chairman Dave Richards, although it has retained a financial holding in the company. Financial restructuring has also taken place at Volvo who are part of the Ford group.

Despite these recent problems Ford continues to develop its successful model range and it is very much business as usual for Ford Europe as Ford USA attempts to get back on a stable business footing.

Ford’s European model range is now based on the new ‘Kinetic’ design platform and has consolidated its designs to offer an attractive collection of small, medium and large vehicles.

The vehicle which has attracted a lot of interest recently is the new Ford Kuga. Not to be mistaken with the Cougar which along with the Probe was an attempt to revive the Capri but proved to be a failure.

Ford has been out of the 4x4 market for a while largely due to its involvement with Land Rover and Volvo so the Kuga has been eagerly awaited. The Kuga is a five door crossover vehicle and is only designed for occasional off-road use and is not intended to have the same capabilities or ground clearance as larger 4x4 vehicles.

This may not have been made clear to the presenter of the Channel 5 motoring programme Fifth Gear. He was quite complimentary about the Kuga but could not resist driving it into really punishing terrain that ultimately caused a reported £7000 worth of damage.

The Kuga utilises an intelligent AWD (All Wheel Drive) Haldex four wheel drive system whereby power is supplied the road wheels where necessary according to the terrain. It is powered by a 2.0 TDCI diesel engine which has been improved by Ford engineers so that it now has the lowest CO2 emissions in its class and also delivers an impressive 44mpg combined which should pacify some environmentalists. The engine has improved torque and a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. The current model range consists of the Zetec model and also the Titanium with the Titanium having a slightly higher spec although both are very well equipped.

The Kuga has very good safety levels with an impressive Euro NCAP rating of five stars for adult occupants, four stars for children and even three stars for pedestrians so you’ll even be ok if you are unfortunate enough to get knocked down by one! There are a large number of passive and active features including multiple air bags and a rigid safety cell. The Kuga also boasts ABS, Traction Control, and Electronic Stability Programme. Keyless entry and start can also be found as can a variety of different ‘packs’ which manufacturers now offer according to customer needs. The specifications of both are very generous though and come with 17” Alloy wheels although 19” are available. The Kuga will never match the capabilities of bigger 4x4’s but then its not really meant to and  therefore will be happy to occupy the position in the market for which it has been designed. Ford has created yet another winner here and seemingly refuses to be beaten.

Ethanol From The Most Abundant Molecule

Ethanol has emerged as the premier alternative fuel to replace gasoline and lessen our dependence on fossil fuels. In Brazil for example, 8 out of every 10 cars on the road already run on ethanol derived from the sugar cane plant. In part, the United States is the largest producer and exporter of ethanol derived from corn. But is it a good idea to use a food source to produce a fuel? By the current rising costs of food and commodities, there's a very strong case against the idea.

Enter Cellulose

Cellulose is one of the most abundant organic molecules on earth. It is apparent in all forms of plant life. It has been found by many scientists to be the answer to the search for an alternative source of ethanol. Cellulose ethanol is basically ethanol derived from organic matter such as wood chips, prairie grass, switch grass, and even saw dust. These sources of cellulose ethanol can be found in a lot of the waste material in such fields as construction, farming, the lumber industry, and even landscaping. All this waste material is given the term "biomass" by scientists.

It is estimated that the United States alone can generate around 500 million tons of biomass per year. This yield would enable the production of about 40 billion gallons of cellulose ethanol annually, replacing about 25% of the total gasoline consumption in America today. There's an urgency to get cellulose ethanol online as soon as possible, but it is evident that the transfer will be a gradual one. Cost effective ways to produce cellulose ethanol are being developed and optimized, and a substantial infrastructure of production and deliverability is on its way. Further more, it is imperative in the process of commercial production of cellulose ethanol to lessen the yield of any more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Cellulose Ethanol

The process of making cellulose ethanol is pretty close to the same process of making moonshine, but with a few other steps. The biomass material is first churned into fine particles and pretreated with an acid to start the breakdown process. It is then soaked in a high temperature container for several days as enzymes break down the cellulose molecule into simple sugars. The sugar is then fermented through a form of yeast or bacteria. Fermentation is basically the consumption of the sugar by the yeast, yielding fuel grade cellulose ethanol as a waste byproduct. The cellulose ethanol is then distilled from the sugar/yeast solution.

Like any other technology, it is through the passage of time and through consistent honing of the technology that the production costs are reduced and the yields are maximized. It is an evolving process whereby scientists discover better and more efficient ways to produce cellulose ethanol. The first commercial facility to produce cellulose ethanol from biomass is due to come online by 2011 in the Midwest region of the United States.

What You Can Expect From Online Car Auction Websites

repossessed cars

Usually, when people buy cars, regardless of whether it is new or used, it is one of the largest purchases that they will make, with the exception of a home. Everyone wants to save money and feel like they got a super deal when purchasing one, and thanks to the advent of the online auto auction, people now have access to a great selection of all kinds of repossessed cars, seized cars, and other types of vehicles that are available through the online car auction websites.

One of the best things about the online auto auctions is that, while searching the internet for just the right vehicle to meet the needs of you and your family, you can also take advantage of that same technology to do the research that will help you to know whether or not you really are getting a great deal on the car. Having that kind of research in hand, which includes digging up the Kelly Blue Book price to give you a good idea of the fair market value of the vehicle, will help you know when to stop bidding so that you don't get carried away and end up paying too much because you got sucked into a bidding war.

Many people have said that one of the reasons why they started looking for a vehicle through online car auction websites was that it provided an opportunity to sidestep the used car salesmen. The fact is that there is quite a bit of truth in all of the standard jokes and stories about used car salesmen and the tactics they use, and all of that can be eliminated by purchasing a vehicle through motor car auctions.

As you prepare to make your first vehicle purchase through an online used car auction, you should register with at least a few of the different online car auction websites and spend some time getting familiar with every aspect of the website and the online auto auction proceedings and policies. Watch a few auctions on all of the sites that you are registered with to see how things progress and to get a feel for the "culture" of the different online auto auction sites. You will more than likely start to feel that one of the sites feels like the best place for you to try your hand at getting the winning bid on a car.

The websites that run the online auto auctions usually have a filtering function that will allow you to search for certain types of vehicles and to search in a certain area near your home. You might find that you have plenty of choices within just a five mile radius of your home, or you may have to extend the search criteria for areas that are farther away from your location. You will want to restrict the search area to a distance that you are comfortable driving to so that you can do an inspection and take the vehicle for a test drive.

Vehicle history reports are also a very good way to gain additional information about the specific automobile that you are thinking about making a bid on. There are some of the online car auction websites that allow you to buy those reports, while others will link to services that offer those types of reports. You should try to do as much research as you can before making any bid because with a used car auction, the sale is final and there are no warranties.

How To Increase The Gas Mileage When You Drive

One way to save gas is to look for a job that won't be far from your residence. The fact that one would have to drive lots of miles to go to work can put a big hole in one's pockets, especially if one must use the car.

One of the myths that surround saving gas is that topping your tank up to its brim makes you have more gas to use throughout the week. You might risk of losing more of your purchase gas when you practice filling your tank to the top. The loss of gas from your gas tank can be avoided if you don't always fill your tank to the brim.

You can use more than one gasoling credit card if you wish to. Once you expend the rebate rate of a gas credit card, you can apply for another gas credit card to enjoy its rebate rate. With more than one gas credit card, you can save tremendous costs on gas.

Many people say that green cars are becoming a much accepted way to save gas these days. Although I haven't used a green car before but they say a green car is one that does not rely on gas to power it. Whether such cars really exist is something that is worth studying. But the way the cost of gas is going, green cars will surely be an option for many if such cars actually exist and work as advertised.

You can walk instead of using your car all the time in order to save gas. As an alternative to using your car, walking comes with tremendous health benefits such as the loss of extra fat, leaner muscles and a healthier heart. Walking to closeer destinations instead of driving can keep the gas in your car much longer.

Slamming on the car breaks unnecessarily tends to cause loss of gas. It's certain that driving your car in a aggresive mode can increase your gas efficiency in many vehicles. Jack rabbiting is a driving habit that can cause you to lose more gas than you should. Please take time to master how to avoid these bad habits and you will be surprise on how much fuel you can save at the end of the day.

A vehicle in general works better and save more gasoline when is kept in great conditions. If you fail to maintain your car, you will work with a car that uses up more gas. Keeping your car in a good regimen of maintenance is vital for saving gas.

Getting a job where you can work from home can be the answer to the question how I can save fuel. If you work at home on the Internet, then you don't need to commute to and fro your place of work. This is indeed a great way to save on gas and still live your life, especially one that still puts food in your mouth and feed your family each month.

Run Car on Water Scam - Find out the Truth at Water Fuel Conversion

There are advantages and disadvantages to run your car with water that most people who write these guides are not telling you. In order to make an informed decision about whether or not running your car on water is a viable option for you means that you need the right information; not some sales page prompting you to make that choice.

If I were you, I would want to know if run your car on water is a scam or a reality to the solution of the high gas prices that plague our nation and the world. It is obvious that we do need an alternative, but doing something that you don’t truly know about can hurt you in the long run.

Like you, I wanted to know the answer to this announcement of water fuel conversion and so I did some extensive research and found some real advantages to this, but also a few disadvantages as well.

Here are some of the obvious advantages of running water car:

(1) Save on High Gas Price. Those who are already using the Water4Gas system are reporting that their average gas mileage has improved from twenty percent to sixty five percent after they have done the water fuel conversion of their cars.
(2) It is safe and is 100% legal
(3) Water Fuel Conversions do not affect the manufacturer’s warranty.
(4) The cost to convert car to water is an IRS deductible expense when you file your tax return. The IRS is giving back cash rebates of up to $2000 for any type of hybrid vehicles.
(5) The conversion process does reduce emission and CO2, which creates a healthier environment.

Disadvantages:

(1) Most of the "run car with water," guides falsely indicate that the water gas conversion works with 99.9% of all types of cars and that is not true. There are not many people who are willing to try it with their new vehicles. People who tinker with old cars have tried it and it has worked.

(2) It may take a mechanic only a few hours to install the system, but for someone who knows little about cars, it may take a little longer

To really know for sure if the water fuel conversion system will work on your new car, you would have to optimize your fuel to air ratio.

This is usually done by either a MAF or MAP sensor, O2 modified sensor or even an EFIE, which is an Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer.

The Water4Gas ebook explains that in more details. You can find that information by CLICKING HERE.

Japanese Used Car Auctions Are A Perfect Route For Great Savings

online car auction

Used car auctions are getting to be a very popular way to buy cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and other types of vehicles these days. People enjoy the process of a car auto auction, which usually means they are able to get a better price that they would from a dealership, plus they can avoid haggling with a salesman. A Japanese used car auction is one of the best ways to pick up your favorite model of Japanese vehicle and get a good price.

While all kinds of different auctions are getting increasingly popular, from the online car auction sites to the functions held at car auction houses, it seems the Japanese car auction events are gaining in popularity even faster than other types. Part of the reason for this is the general popularity of the Japanese cars these days because of their overall reliability and because they get better gas mileage than many American made vehicles.

With all of these things in mind, an even greater percentage of people are looking into buying Japanese made vehicles because the overall value makes them a great deal. If you take that factor into account, as well as the fact that auto auctions can save you so much money, then it seems like a wise move to locate a Japanese used car auction.

There are many different types of vehicle auctions these days that will often feature Japanese car models, as well as many others brands of vehicles. A great number of the cars that are sold at any kind of car auto auction are seized cars and repossessed cars. These are cars that have been seized by a governmental agency because of some type of illegal activity on the part of the owner, or they have been repossessed by the financial lending institution because of failure to pay on the debt.

No matter what type of public car auction you attend, whether it is for a used Japanese car or a collector car, there are some basic things that must be understood about how all motor car auctions work. First of all, you need to either have cash, a cashier's check or a pre-approved loan before you can even register at the auction and participate in the bidding.

The reason why you have to have the money upfront is that all sales at auto auctions are final and you are expected to pay for the vehicle as soon as the auction is over. Because sales are final, you also need to be confident in your ability to spot any problems that a used car has during the brief inspection time that you will have before the bidding starts.

There is no doubt that a Japanese used car auction can provide an excellent route to great savings on a good vehicle. At the same time, people need to be mindful of the fact that with all used car auctions the sales are final and you cannot ask for your money back after you win the bid. The automobiles are also sold "as is" and as such, they have no guarantees and no warranties of any kind. If you win the bid on the car of your choice, but find problems later, then you are stuck with the problems to deal with on your own.

Classic Car Restoration Parts

There is a love of classic cars that just cannot be stripped away from some people. It is more than just the captivation they have with the look of the car, it is also about the way they were built and the  era that they came from. But as with anything classic, restoring these cars can be time consuming and expensive as parts are not always easy to find. Classic car parts can be extremely difficult to find, you may find that special part you are looking for on the other side of the country or even from the other side of the globe.

When looking for classic car restoration parts, it is always best to try and look around to see what you can find in your area. Starting here first will save you a lot of time and money by not having to pay for  shipping costs. Remember, more often than not,  classic car parts are heavier in weight than the parts are today and since the postal service charges for the weight, shipping expenses can be pretty high. So if you are able to avoid the mess of getting classic car restoration parts through the mail, all the better.

Buying Your Part Over The Internet

A lot of people seem to find the classic car restoration parts that they need through the Internet on auction sites. These auctions are just regular people who are selling some of their own stuff. While most often this is a safe adventure, you must proceed with caution as there are scam artists out there just waiting to take your money. Classic car restoration parts are not cheap so make sure that you check out the seller as much as possible before sending them your money or any of your personal information.

Of course, there is only so much that you can determine about someone over the Internet. Since this is the case, your best bet when buying any classic car parts is to use a safe payment method such as paypal or your credit card because you, as the buyer, are offered a certain amount of protection through these payment methods. While it is great to get the classic car restoration parts you have been wanting, it is not worth giving away every penny in your bank account because you were too excited or impatient to take cautionary steps. Just proceed with caution when buying such items and you will be fine.

Your Considerations When Buying An Automobile Extended Warranty Plan

extended warranty coverage

"How can I afford the extended warranty plan?" some auto buyers wonder. It is a natural consumer instinct to hunt for the best deals and the lowest prices, without getting ripped off. However, the internet has become one of the best places for the keen car buyer to purchase auto extended warranties, since there aren't dealer markups. It can be a daunting task, with so many scams and ramshackle, fly-by-night operations out there, but these tips will help you to make an informed decision.

First of all, be sure you're dealing with a solid company. See that they're listed in the Better Business Bureau or Web Assured, and that they have years of experience. For example, Warranty Direct has been in business for 26 years and NWC have been in business for 20 years. Read consumer comments and testimonials, check to see if the company services any dealerships and ask if they have a reinsurance program, which means they will be good for the money, even if many people are filing claims all at once.

You may have heard that it is next to impossible to find a warranty company to cover some cars. For example, forget about snagging a deal on your low-end Land Rovers (with poor quality, frequent and costly repairs). If you have a turbo engine in your Porsche or a really old car, then you may have a hard time finding an extended warranty plan as well. If you're stuck in this situation, you may want to consider putting $5,000 into a long-term CD or money market account to save for repairs. If you have an older high mileage vehicle, then you can still find a reasonable deal through Warranty Direct, which covers vehicles up to 150,000 miles ("PowerShield Plan"). NWC also has a plan covering you up to 90,000 miles ("AutoXtra"), which covers components like the engine, transmission, drive axles, belts, water pumps, fuel pumps, rental car insurance and emergency roadside assistance. Before you visit the dealership to wheel and deal, be sure you arrive with an online quote in hand as a bartering tool.

An extended warranty plan can be a good investment for some people, particularly those who own lower-end models, those who drive more than 14,000 miles annually, or those who have limited manufacturer warranties. Some people feel more comfortable having that peace of mind, but they must be careful not to assume everything is covered under their extended auto warranty. Auto owners must also be aware that routine oil changes, air filter changes, tire rotations and other maintenance is the best thing they can do to protect their investment!

The Vauxhall Van - You can still get it in White

Did you know the term “White Van Man” is attributed to Radio 2 DJ Sarah Kennedy way back in 1997? A fact she has no doubt been dining out on ever since.

In the eleven years that has elapsed since white van man was singled out for posing the greatest threat to society, world and home events have meant that maybe there are worse things in life than someone being discourteous towards us whilst driving.

I seem to remember though that white vans do seem to attract a certain amount of attention not all of it welcomed. I hired a white van a while back to move flat and within minutes a small group of dirty faced youths started hanging around and I had to move them on by threatening to play my Richard Clayderman albums loudly.

As a consequence “white van man” has reinvented himself somewhat and undergone a bit of an image change to reflect these changing times. For instance mainly due to a loophole with VAT ratings many builders who in the past may have driven dilapidated white vans  a few years ago can now be found driving around in swanky new 4x4 pick-ups. Especially the double cab versions which are now being used on the school run amongst other things.

Also due to the rising costs of motoring a lot of vans have now become the main vehicle in the household and with the image of the white van in crisis other colours were being tried in an attempt to shake off the stereotypical image of the occupant. Some time ago silver was deemed to be the new white for the more image-conscious driver.

The term “New Van Man” was coined to reflect the trend of tradesmen who would rather be seen drinking a tall latte rather than a mug of tea with maybe a copy of The Guardian on the dashboard instead of The Sun.

People’s expectations are a lot higher these days and the equipment level of today’s vans has improved to reflect this. I remember a friend of mine used to be a delivery driver and I used to occasionally accompany him when I’d lost the will to live. The problem being his van was so basic there was not even a passenger seat! This did not put me off and I helped myself to one of my Mum’s dining room chairs. This kind of worked in so far as I could put a seatbelt round me but of course without being fixed to the floor it did have a tendency to catapult me into the dashboard if we stopped quickly or alternatively sent me flying backwards into a pile of discarded sandwich wrappers when we pulled away.

These days vans have airbags and air conditioning (so the sun-tanned right arm has become a thing of the past) CD’s and MP3 players and such like even electric windows, in the past you would be lucky to have a window winder as it would have fallen off long ago and be rattling around annoyingly somewhere under the driver’s seat.

Take the Vauxhall Vivaro I have just been reading about for instance, the specification list reads better than a lot of cars currently available, there’s even a sport version. It comes with a choice of the latest common rail diesel engines and some 16 different body variations and it’s even made in Luton England. Safety features include ABS with EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) and seat belt pretensioners. The Vivaro is available in long and short wheelbase versions including minibuses as well as a high roof option, always handy to avoid bashing your head when loading.

All the vans I have looked at are shown in red but rest assured white is still an option for the traditionalist!

Choosing A Warranty Plan

extended warranty coverage

Some people mistake their AAA coverage as a "warranty plan," but in reality the Automobile Association of America is just a service that helps you avoid breakdowns. For $30-$60/year, you'll get free towing up to 100 miles, free jumpstarts if your battery dies and lost key or lock-out service, in addition to travel agency services, travel discounts, special auto financing and traveler's checks. This is an important membership for any driver to have, but extended warranty plans, by contrast, are designed to save you from emergency expenses due to mechanical failure.

You may be wondering, "Do I need to purchase a warranty plan, or will I be covered by my car manufacturer's warranty?" In some cases, people have purchased two-year extended warranty coverage only to find that they had already been covered just fine by their manufacturer. According to the consumer site CarSmart.com, the best coverage is on high-end luxury sports cars, like Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Rolls-Royces, which are covered until 999,999 miles.

At the next tier, you're covered for five years (or 60,000 miles) if you drive a Mitsubishi, Kia, Infiniti or Hyundai. You're covered four years (or 50,000) miles if you have an Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Hummer, Isuzu, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche, Saab, Volkswagon or Volvo.

You may want to consider purchasing an additional warranty if you're rough on your mid-range vehicle or if you buy a lower range vehicle from Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Saturn, GMC, Honda, Jeep, Ford, Mercury, Nissan, Pontiac, Suzuki, Scion or Subaru (whose manufacturer warranties only cover 3 years or 36,000 miles.) If you drive a 2008 or later GM model, then you'll be covered for 100,000 miles or five years.

Many people assume that there is such a thing as an "implied warranty" that protects them for so many days after they bring their new car home. Generally, you should not rely on this type of warranty plan. If you're test driving a used car and hear a clunking sound and the salesperson says they'll take care of it, get that promise in writing to document the problem (or simply pass on the car!) If the warranty plan doesn't explicitly say that part will be covered, then the dealer is under no obligation to fix it, legally. Some states have a "lemon law" that says you're entitled to repairs or replacement if the problem cannot be resolved after so many attempts. However, if you're buying a used car "as is," then you automatically void your right to lemon law protection and assume any risk.

If you're buying a used car that costs less than $5,000, then is the warranty plan even worth it? At Warranty Direct, you can get an out-of-warranty plan on any vehicle over 36,000 miles that covers you four years (or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first). If you're buying a car so cheaply, then it's probably not worth your while to pay half that much for an automobile warranty (when you could have saved your money and your stress by just buying a slightly more expensive car with less mileage and a longer manufacturer's warranty). Beware of the cheap plans because they often advertise exceedingly low prices but essentially cover nothing. Some extended warranty plans to avoid include those offered by TheAutoClub.com, Continental Warranty, AaautoWarranty and SmartAutoWarranty.com, which do not offer wear and tear coverage and have garnered over 250 annual complaints.

Purchasing the Optimal Automobile for You

You might find it difficult to buy a car. This requires both thinking and analysis. It can be hard to decide which is the best car for you, but never fear. You can also get a car insurance quote for free.

There are a lot of car companies that will take the time to address your concern. Most people know what suits them best. Nevertheless, you need to learn some guidelines to choose the best car for you.

Before buying your dream car, you should practice some self-assessment. Analyze your lifestyle. Be honest and write down exactly what you want.

Even if it feels a little depressing, the important thing is discovering your true status.

Be aware of what your needs are. Do you have a significant other? On the other hand, do you have wife and kids? Decide how much you want to spend each month on a used car. Before you can move on to the next step, these questions need to be answered.

It is okay to buy a car if you need it. If you have enough money, you can buy car even if you do not need it. Buy one if you consider it a necessity; as long as you have everything required for its maintenance.

It is undeniable that everyone has a unique driving style, therefore you need to find the right car that matches your own driving style. You should also see Get a 100% Free Online Automobile Insurance Quote.

It's also important to see how you can save money on maintaining it. You should pick an economy car with good performance.

You also need to choose between manual or automatic. If you are the type who wants a precision driving experience that involves operating your own clutch and gears, a manually driven car will be right for you. An automatic car will not tire you as much when you are driving as a manual car will.  Since you always have to operate the clutch in a manual.

A car with a standard transmission gets better gas mileage, but only a true car buff will buy this type of car. Cars with automatic transmissions are the best sellers in todays market. Automatic cars are popular with consumers because they are so much easier.

Design is also important in choosing a car. Cars are designed to attract the most potential buyers.

Car designs are always changing. You need to choose a safe design that can be in style after several years.

If you can buy a new car every three years, go ahead and buy a car that's in style. Stay far away from anything drastic or strange, like unusual design or body shape, in a car.

Check into the features also. Some cars are more technologically advanced than others. They are, in fact, luxury cars.

It is okay to have luxury cars if you can afford them.

The only negative thing about it is that it is not used for everyday driving.

Prior to buying these types of automobiles, take a trip to your local dealer's to find out if you really like that kind of thing. If you have any concerns about the new car you purchasing the salespeople will be happy to answer them for you.

These are the things to do, before buying the best car for you. You can also seek advice from family members, acquaintances and professionals in the field. Once you've made your decision about your car, you're better off not changing your mind. More information can be found about free instant auto insurance quotes.

Getting A Bargain: When To Shop For A Car

Cars are probably one of the best ways to get you around; having your own car is far more convenient than waiting for a public transportation service, like waiting for an available taxi, or waiting for a bus. You can even get a online auto insurance quotation now.

There are many ways to ensure that you get a great deal if saving for a car purchase is in your plans. It is important to also plan ahead when purchasing a vehicle.

The best time to buy a car is at the end of the day, on the end of a month, and preferably the end of a quarter.

The reason for this is that car dealers have a quarterly quota to meet, and they'll be willing to cut you a deal if it means the difference between meeting it or falling short. The agent selling the car will try and bride you with lots of accessories and offers.

Another way to get good deals is by buying a car on rainy days. This is related to the fact that there will be minimal or no purchasers at the auto dealerships. Customers are the top priority in any business, so car dealers will want to make you happy and will offer you some quite good deals.

During holidays is a good time to buy a new vehicle. Car sales during the holidays are not as high as other times of the year. Once more, dealers will be very cooperative and include a great deal for an automobile.

Shopping for a car during the first days of the week may be one of the best things to do. That's because lots of possible buyers attend on Saturday and Sunday. This means if you attempt to negotiate a price that's not satisfactory for the car dealer they will just abandon you and attempt to bargain with a different customer.

Start-of-the-week days like Monday or Tuesday are the best days to visit a dealership because they don't see many customers, so dealers may be more friendly and willing to bargain. Think about online car insurance quote.

Purchasing a year-end model will save you money. This is because new models will arrive and last year's model fame will fade. Car dealers will want to sell off the model from last year in order to have room for this year's model. This can make car dealers make the price lower, and you can negotiate even a lower price. Various merchants will even offer you some complimentary things for the car.

In addition, buying a car with the design cycle ending can give you very good discounts. The reason for this is because the older model is no longer made after the manufacturer creates a new design for that particular model of car. This means that car dealers will want to get rid of the previous model fast.

If you don't need a new car, this is one of the better methods to use. Sometimes the good deals are the ones that are out of style.

If you want the best deals around and unbelievable discounts, look for auctions featuring government impounds. impounded cars where lost because of criminal activities or by seizures because of tax evasion charge

These cars can be very new and in good condition. Cars bought here can have as much as 90% discounts because the government acquired these cars free, they did not invest in it, and so they usually auction it off starting at a very low price.

If you purchase a car during a dealership's slow season or purchase an outdated model, you are more likely get a car for a cheaper price. If you're looking for some new wheels, pay attention whenever the government is holding an auto auction. For more see Quick and Free Van Insurance Quote Online.

How To Purchase Your First Classic Or Antique Car

For most people, owning classic or vintage cars is a dream-come true. Owning classic cars are considered a luxury. It is very expensive and most people cannot afford to buy one, much more to restore one. You will also need free instant auto insurance quotes.

When it comes to buying a antique machine or a classic care the first thing to think about is how much money you have to spend. Some people will use their life savings to buy one.

Vintage cars can also be an investment. Beyond renewal, the exchange rate of the automobile would be bigger than you imagined. With the right model and decent condition, you stand to get a big profit margin from the sale of a classic car.

These classic cars are usually purchased at auctions, and there is no shortage of classic car enthusiasts available and willing to spend a great deal on these cars.

However, before buying one you should consider the following: Keep in mind that what you want to buy would be described as a collector car. Make you also see about motor insurance quote.

Decide what car you can afford. Unless you have a lot of money to work with, coveted vintage cars from major expos are probably out. One car shown in major care shows can cost you at least hundreds of thousands of dollars

Finding information on where to purchase classics cars is not the easiest task. You have to put in a lot of time and struggle just by trying to locate one of these vehicles. Remember that these cars are not manufactured anymore and you do not often see these on your regular used car dealership.

It is quite likely that you will find one in a junk yard, or the home of an elderly person who sells or throws away such classics. You might even obtain them at a bargain price. However, these cars are probably covered with rust already and have engines that are in bad shape.

Another good way to look for a classic car is by going to auctions. If you can afford to travel, take time to go to car auctions in different places.

This will give you a chance to offer a bargain for it. Another choice would be to buy a classic vehicle that is already in good condition and will require less restoration.

Do a comparison if you think you've found what you are looking for. If you are a mechanic you can probably do the comparison yourself, if not, try to bring your trusted mechanic along to help you decide which one to buy. The less restoration that is required the less work that is required.

When you buy your car, your next task is to restore it. You will find this phase to be both expensive and time consuming since quality classic car parts are difficult to locate and costly to build.

Obtaining the car parts necessary for restoration will be very time consuming and will require you to make many calls in shops that sells antique car parts. One way of easily obtaining classic car parts is by searching in the Internet.

A machine shop can create one for you, if you cannot locate one. All you have to do is bring the old part to the shop and they will do the rest.

A mechanic can do the restoration for you if you are not experienced at repairing cars. If you bought the car for the purpose of investing then shops like these are not recommended because they are normally expensive. More info here: auto insurance and car insurance quote.

Vauxhall Corsa Capital

London is chock-full of unique landmarks and Vauxhall have added another. Its not an addition to Big Ben or the Millennium Dome , I’m on about the four wheeled type of Vauxhall, in this case the Vauxhall Corsa Capital.  Only by visiting a London Vauxhall dealer will you be able to pick one up, as Vauxhall aims to show its city car can take on the biggest conurbation in Britain.  To help you deal with not only the congestion, but the charge that goes with it, Vauxhall are enticing Londoners to the Capital – pun intended, with (deep breath): 15” alloy wheels, a CD player that’s MP3 ready, rear spoiler, body coloured bumpers, electric front windows and air conditioning to name but a few, for only a slight price hike over the standard model.

Of course the Capital is just one derivative of the all-new Corsa range and the new cars find themselves in the middle of the most competitive sector of motoring – the hatchback.Vitally then, the new Vauxhall Corsa must score well for in likeability, drivability and must be available for the right price?).  With Vauxhall dealers pitching the Corsa range directly at big rivals Ford and Volkswagen it has to be very good indeed to become the market leader.  Those cutesy little fellas in the advert seem to be having fun mind - but you can’t trust cuddly fabric, so crucially how is it to drive and how does it look in the flesh?

As I am still the new boy when it comes to road testing cars, I am faced with the daily anguish of opening my letterbox to find a distinct lack of keys to the latest Ferrari or Lamborghini, with a “have this for a week” note attached from Mr Lamborghini.I have however, been given the pleasure of driving the Vauxhall Corsa and believe me I don’t use the word ‘pleasure’ without meaning it.  Firstly however an anecdote…

My own car is a Hyundai Coupe, the automotive equivalent to Kelly Brook – pretty to look at with racy curves aplenty and great handling (particularly dancing the Salsa).  However thanks to karma, the gorgeous looks come at a price - it’s very slow and drinks like Oliver Reed in his heyday.  Despite this fact, one rain-drenched evening when all the sensible people were fast asleep, I found myself meandering around the twisty back roads on the outskirts of Cardiff, when what looked like a B & Q shed with wheels pulled up alongside me.

It appeared the four youths had been on the sun bed, as there was a blue neon glow emanating from the shed and that’s when my inner eight year-old took over.I strained the small rodent in its little wheel to run quicker than ever before and the engine jumped into action.  As I left the shed and sun bed combo behind with Kelly’s wonderful handling, I thought to myself “nothing could handle this well”.Shockingly six months later I was proven to be incorrect.

If my Coupe is Kelly Brook, then the new Vauxhall Corsa is Kate Thornton. The design wont make your spin jingle or your hair stand on end but it is still a decent looking hatch back.Importantly though, this car has brain power as well it features: CBC, ABS, EBA, DTC and SLS.You don’t need to concern yourself with what all the different acronyms mean, they pretty much all relate to safety and importantly for a city car handling.  I drove a 1.2 litre Corsa derivative during my high-brow summer break to Ibiza and fell in love.

The island is split into the two best environments for testing a car: twisty mountain roads and city driving.  With this in mind I left my hotel high on the sun-drenched hillside and set off for the capital, Ibiza Town.  The air conditioning instantly cooled the car, although I admit I leant out the window on occasion, to smugly show the face of a man who still had all 4 wheel trims on his car.  I didn’t however shout “C’MON!”  The 1.2 litre engine was surprisingly willing and the car gripped as tightly through the hairpin turns as it did through the s-bends.

Hitting the main road towards the capital gave me time to reflect on the interior.  Everything seemed well put together with no rattles or squeaks and the driving position gave perfect visibility – ensuring I had plenty of time to see the crazy drivers and get swerving to avoid them.At times, I honestly could have been Bagdad, as nobody seemed to understand the conventional wisdom of ‘don’t crash into another car, it’ll do neither me nor you any good’.

Emerging unscathed with a combination of cheeky handling and dumb luck, I arrived at Ibiza Town, wheel trims and all.  Parked against the backdrop of a billionaires’ playground of yachts in the harbour, the Corsa seemed somehow prettier.  The funky looks seemed in-keeping with the fashion boutiques and hustle and bustle of the city.As night time set in, the light weight steering system and ultra responsive gearbox came into their element. There was a point when i took the wrong turning.  Well by wrong turn I mean turning into a dead-end street complete with drug dealers, ladies of the night and no La Policia in sight.

For some this may seem like a perfect night out, not for me and Kate though.  It was a ludicrous situation really, these burly druggies being crept up on by the Corsa, with its lop-sided grin and surprised eyes.  I’m pleased to announce that the excellent turning circle allowed me to deliver a swift three-point-turn and chirp off onto better climes within the big smoke.  The next day, Kate had to be returned and with a heavy heart I did so, wheel trims and all – she really will be the envy of the rental company’s car park.

The small hatchback market is one of the toughest to conquer, but I really think Vauxhall have produced a worthy competitor.  When I think of the Corsa I think of chirpy, cheeky, cute and cuddlesome.Together with its handling this car is fun and ideal for the city environment. So if you want to get yourself a nice city car just remember: city plus fun take away cost equals Vauxhall dealer.  “C’MON!”  Ah damn it.

Hydrogen Fuel Car Kits - Building Hydrogen Generator for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car

If you are looking into the possibility of building a hydrogen fuel car kit and have no inkling of how to do this, then I suggest that you read on. There has been so much buzz going around, especially on the Internet about the concept of converting your car to run on water. Some people hear that and are in disbelief, but yet they want to save on gas and increase their gas mileage and want to know if “run car on water,” is a scam or a reality.

Hydrogen fuel cell cars, in my research, consisted of variety of sources providing free information on how to run car on water. The technology basically introduces the idea of creating Brown’s Gas or HHO gas extracted from water to improve the gasoline combustion in your vehicle.

You end up getting improved gas mileage, a cleaner and long-lasting emission system that will cause less air pollution, save you gas and protect the environment. If that is what you are looking for, please continue to read more about this.

We all have felt the increasingly agony of prices at the gas pump, a slow and declining economy and the uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring. Oil shortage globally is affecting all of us, but the great news is that there is an alternative solution that some people are scared to consider and that is the hydrogen fuel car kit.

If someone were giving you one million dollars and you were scared to take it from them because you did not know where it came from, but the person is giving you the option of doing your own research or providing a bank statement to legitimize the transaction, would you take the one million dollars?

It is the same idea here. The information about hydrogen fuel cell has already been researched and reviewed at a particular website to give you unbiased information that will help you to improve the mileage on your car, save about 40% in gas cost and make your car run better. If you are now receiving this information that will save you thousands of dollars, wouldn’t you want to tap into that information?

I felt like I had just found a million dollars when I learned how I could convert my car to run better and last longer. I hated to go to the gas pump. It gave me an ulcer and I was sick and tired of no relief in sight.

There are many people who are at that very stage and are seeking answers to this ongoing problem and if you are still reading to this point, I know you must be curious as well.

The ready-made hydrogen fuel car kits were too expensive and could run you over a thousand dollars easily. So, I did a test with the DIY hydrogen fuel car kit using a group of my friends who were also drivers like me. I found out that the hydrogen fuel cell kit was very easy to put together. It took only about three hours to complete when I used the guide that walked me step by step through the process

The hydrogen fuel generator that I put together right in my tiny garage cost only about $110 in total. I was able to purchase all of the parts from my local hardware store. I found out that the cell stands alone so there is no need to make changes to your engine to do this either.

What I really liked about the concept was that it is reversible. Anytime I want to change back to what I had before, it is as easy and safe.

It has been six months now and today, I look back with no regrets. I have joined thousands of other wise drivers and consumers who saw the opportunity to convert their vehicle using the hydrogen fuel kit and like me are enjoying the benefits while others are struggling at the gas pump.

You can improve gas mileage, save on gas and contribute to a safer environment by building your own HHO hydrogen generator with the step by step guide on How to run your car on water for much less than $120. Start Now to Spend Less On Gas and Download Hydrogen Fuel Car Kit Today!

Features of Hybrid SUV Models

Hybrid sports utility vehicles (SUVs) are high performance vehicles that are compatible to using two distinct sources of power- the gasoline engine and the electric motor. This provides a fuel efficient source of power.

The ‘milder’ hybrids are dependent primarily on the gas engine. They use a small electric motor/ generator to supplement this. There are also ‘strong’ hybrids in which the electric motor is given a larger role enabling it to propel the car on its own at low speeds.

Hybrid SUV Models

Toyota and Lexus are providers of hybrid SUVs. Honda provides the mild hybrids. These are the ones that rely mainly on the gas engine while using a small electric motor or generator to supplement it. Toyota Prius and Ford Escape Hybrid are examples of strong hybrids which have a larger role ascribed for the electric motor.

Features and Functionalities of Hybrid SUVs

The pathway of energy for the Hybrid SUVs can vary to wide extents. This depends upon various conditions and demands of the driver. Usually it is the electric motor that provides most of the momentum while driving at lower speeds despite the engine revving. The excessive power from the engine is absorbed by the smaller motor or generator and then routed back to the main motor to be used either for providing the energy to move the car or for charging the battery pack.

A simple system is involved in the Hybrid SUV setup. No rotating belt is there as in case of conventional Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). There are simply two electric motors and a gas engine that is permanently linked together using a planetary gear set. The driver can perceive nothing but only a smooth flow of power in spite of the fact that there is a lot of variation in the different modes.

There is a third electric motor or generator in case of the RX400h and Highlander Hybrid 4WD-i – two models of Hybrid SUVs. It is worth noting that the front-wheel-drive Highlanders do not have this motor. These Hybrid SUV models have none of the typical elements present in an all-wheel-drive system, namely, individual drive shafts connecting the front and rear axles and a center differential varying the power split. The independent third electric motor or generator rated for 68 hp and 96 lb-ft of torque is instead built into a rear transaxle.  It is only in times of need like during hard acceleration or starting on a slippery surface that the rear electric motor comes into play. While moving under force of gravity (coasting) and braking, this rear electric motor acts as a generator. In other circumstances the two models work as front drive SUVs.

Hybrid Car Buying Options

The hybrid car market has built upon us slowly but steadily over the last decade ago. If you can remember back that far you’ll recall that gas was hovering around a dollar a gallon and we were in an economic boom, right on the edge of the dotcom bubble and the economic reality of the new millennium.

The last half decade or so has brought a few other realities as well, the most prevalent being the truth in global warming. The social effects are just now starting to be seen, right alongside the commercial effects. The evolution of the automobile has sidled right up to the plate as the next major development. For those interested in helping out by owning one of the new generation of the car, your choices were limited for a long time, but with each passing year a whole new slew of options open up as car companies hop onto the bandwagon, realizing that there is in fact money to be made in this market.

Until Ford finally announced their Escape model recently, the market has been dominated by Japanese automakers, and even now as more American companies get involved, they have nearly a ten year head start in the market.

Toyota Prius – The most popular and oldest of all hybrid models, the Prius is one of the cheapest models available as well as the most efficient with nearly 60 mpg. There is a downside to being the most popular however – a waiting list of two to nine months.

Honda Insight – Honda’s new entry, the Insight is a straight up competitor to the Prius, with a slightly lower price point and slightly higher mpg. It doesn’t have the establishment of brand name like Toyota hybrids, but the success of Civic and Accord hybrids in Honda’s line places them in a better position than any other car company to take Toyota on.

Ford Escape – The Escape Hybrid is the first time an American car company has offered a hybrid vehicle to the public. Their first entry is an attempt to pacify both markets at the same time, offering a more expensive SUV hybrid that gets significantly better mileage than most SUVs on the market, but still fails to come anywhere near the Toyota or Honda mileage standards.

Lexus and Toyota have offered their own entries into the SUV hybrid arena, with the Lexus RX 400h and Toyota Highlander respectively. The popularity of the SUV being what it is, the price point is rendered partially if not entirely mute, as those on the cusp of buying an SUV because of gas mileage might reconsider when these options are presented.

With upwards of 10 new models supposedly being unveiled later this year, the list of hybrid cars available to the public is growing rapidly, finally catching up to the demand that Toyota and their over-stuffed order forms can attest to. What remains to be seen now is if the kind of technology race that this market needs is coming right behind.

Ford Focus RS – What’s in a name?

Popular culture has an additive personality.  The two main addictions being the lives of celebrities and the power of a brand.  Sometimes a name or a few words is more than enough to make hordes of people rabid with excitement, Britney Spears, Coca Cola, Ford Focus RS – all have their status as icons of modern society.

If someone has talent I’m all for them earning masses of money, being idolised and I may even listen to them preaching to me about global warming issues that they’ve contributed to with their private jets – Bono you know who you are.  What I don’t have any time for are the reality television ‘stars’ who crave any form of attention and limelight without having any discernable talent.  Since the advent of Big Brother, we are inundated with reality television programmes covering every conceivable topic: from being stuck on a desert island, being gifted a modelling contract, dancing and now even conducting an orchestra.

Even supposed A-list celebrities get on my wick.  If anyone can tell me the talents of LiLo (that’ll be Lindsey Lohan to the uninitiated) or Paris Hilton, please send me a postcard.  Combine these two with their ever-changing fashions and you’ve got content for a year’s worth of OK! Magazine.

I must admit that despite my rant I’m a sucker for a label on clothing.  Despite the fact that a t-shirt from a supermarket will cover my chest as ably as one with a designer label, there’s something comforting about a well known brand, despite the fact it’ll cost ten times more and be 95 percent the same as the supermarket’s version.  The problem is that even if you look past the obvious increase in price for a branded product, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s as good quality as you’d hoped – much like finding out the new album from a band you love is rubbish, after you’ve bought it.

Ford find themselves in this quandary as the world waits with baited breath for the return of the iconic RS badge that will adorn the updated Focus early next year.  The RS badge has always symbolised a great Ford, regardless of the base model it’s built upon.  The RS200, Sierra, Fiesta and previous Focus were all barnstorming cars full of power and every boy racer’s dream once the RS treatment was delivered.  There is no doubt however of the one Ford that the new Focus RS must beat – the Escort Cosworth.

The Cossie as it became affectionately known was a perfect example of what a good performance overhaul can do to improve the base model.  The Escort in standard trim was quite simply awful.  It was built to a cost so low that you’d be lucky if half the car didn’t fall apart on the way to the shops.  The styling was woefully bland; the handling distant at best and as for reliability, well you could rely on the fact that it would always break down.  However, a 225bhp engine, chassis upgrade, wide body kit and the iconic ‘whale tail’ spoiler transformed the car into a world beater on the rally circuit that you could happily take to the shops and return in one piece.  It was a supercar for the working class.

Clearly then the excitement surrounding the new Ford Focus RS is justified based on history.  The opportunity for disappointment however is also higher than ever.  So how do I rate its chances?  Firstly it’s available in a lime green so vivid that my retinas detached themselves.  Secondly it has styling that is somehow modern yet harks back to the 90’s look of the Cossie whilst being more aggressive than Joey Barton on a night out.  A rear diffuser gives it F1 chic and there are more vents than a supercomputer could count.  It all sounds a mess but let me assure you it works.

Performance promises to be blistering, with a 2.5 litre turbo-charged engine developing over 280bhp.  Basically on paper the Focus RS will crush every competitor in its class and embarrass a few in the upper echelons too.  My only concern would be that 280bhp through the front wheels shouts ‘torque steer’ louder than a billboard in Times Square.  Ford have allayed these fears stating that a electronic limited slip differential will solve these problems making the Focus RS not only the most powerful RS ever, but all being well a very drivable one.

2009 promises to be the return of an icon.  Let wallets of all sizes rejoice.

Using Baler, Compactor and Shredder for Material Handling Procedure

Used Ford – You Can’t Go Wrong

There was a time when Ford had a pretty awful reputation in the UK. Whilst there can be no doubt that Ford have always enjoyed excellent sales figures their cars have sometimes had a reputation for having irritating faults and niggles. The problem which people seemed to experience the most was poor starting.

I remember years ago my Stepfather had a Ford Transit van that simply refused to start on cold mornings. He used to do building work whilst he was studying to be a teacher and I recall many a winter morning being summoned outside to spray vast quantities of cold start spray into the air intake as he would endeavour to start it. In fact this didn’t seem to make a blind bit of difference and I can still recall that sickly sweet alcohol smell and picture my Stepdad’s face as he grew ever more infuriated with the van. It was a bit like the famous scene from Fawlty Towers when John Cleese got so mad with his car not starting he jumped out and threatened to give it “A damn good thrashing!”

Indeed on cold mornings up and down our great nation the air would be filled with the sound of Ford starter motors refusing to do what they were supposed to as they whined in protest at the Great British winter. Of course what would usually happen would be either the battery would go flat as they were pathetically small in those days, bearing in mind the only electrical equipment you had was an AM/FM radio. Alternatively your next door neighbour who had a wised up and bought a Japanese car that always started first time would come out and say smugly “Oh dear your Mum’s flooded the engine again.” For some reason car engines only seemed to flood if a woman was driving it and to this day I still don’t know what that expression actually means.

Due to the fact that we no longer appear to have recognisable weather seasons in the UK anymore and it now just rains all year round the morning chorus of engines coughing and spluttering into life has become a thing of the past. Ford has made significant improvements in recent years resulting in far more reliable cars. Service intervals on modern Fords have almost doubled and although labour costs are quite high in garages these days Ford offer a number of service packages and Ford parts are priced very competitively.

We have a 2001 Ford Mondeo and it has simply never given us any trouble (I’ve probably jinxed it now). It never uses any oil and the only thing I have had to replace on it was the reversing light switch which cost me £8.00. Sure it’s not the most exciting vehicle in the world but it does what we need it to and when you have kid’s practical functions tend to take over from style, unless you are one of these sad individuals who customise their family car as if they’ve covered it with glue and then driven through an auto accessory shop.

Recently we have been looking to buy a larger vehicle to cater for our rapidly expanding family and a used Ford Galaxy seems to fit the bill quite well. Although it is quite a large vehicle it doesn’t feel cumbersome to drive and there is a huge choice available on the used market with a variety of diesel engines to choose from. If the Galaxy is a bit large for your needs Ford also offers the C-Max and the excellent new S-Max which is a great choice if you need a slightly smaller MPV. Ford has come along way in recent years and there are many good used examples around, the only sound you’ll hear in the mornings now are children complaining about having to go to school and sadly for them the excuse of “The car wouldn’t start” is a thing of the past.

Discover Why HHO Fuel Kits Save On Gas

Is it not crazy to wake in the morning to find that gas prices have risen yet again?  You have to wonder if there is any relief available now or in the future?  Yes and it's something you would never suspect, water.  Did you know that you can run your car on water, well not totally, but you can.  This can be achieved with a device called an HHO Fuel Kit.  This little kit can help boost your cars gas mileage and save you a ton of money in the long run.  Ultimately what happens is that you transform your car into a hybrid that runs on a combination of gas and water.

You may be wondering how the HHO fuel kits work?  Well, gas is generated from H2O or water with the help of a catalyst such as baking soda and a couple of stainless steel plates.  These, along with a few other small parts, are erected into a type of cell, like a battery that goes in your flash light.  The gas that has been generated from this cell is then injected into your cars manifold via your cars vacuum system and no I'm not talking about the one you use on your carpet. As a result of installing one of the kits, you'll benefit from improved gas mileage and substantial savings on all subsequent fill ups.

You may be wondering if this is something that will cost a lot of money to do, well it simply doesn't.  You may be surprised to find many of the parts in your garage and if not, they'll be at your local car store.  If you have to go to the store, you can pick up the parts for as little as $50.  If you’re a grease monkey/mechanic, then putting together the HHO cell will be a breeze.  Don't worry if your not a mechanic, your local one can put this kit together for you in a day or so.

This HHO fuel kit can be used on almost every make and model car out there.  It's finished assembly is about the size of a small jar so don't be worried about fitting it under the hood.  There is very little modification needed to your cars engine and the HHO Fuel Kits conversion is completely reversible.

Gas prices are not going to go down anytime in the near future.  People are scrambling to find ways to save on the rising cost's of fuel consumption.  To date, this is the quickest and best alternative to paying an arm and a leg every week for gas.  You should definitely consider running your car on water and gas if your looking to save money in the future to run your vehicle.  You've got nothing to lose so why not give it a try, it's reversible remember!
