Electric Cars: Is This The Way of The Future?

It seems that nowadays everybody is talking about alternative energies and there are so many different facts being thrown about in terms of electric-driven cars.  First, there are many types of electric cars you can choose from, but all of them use an electric motor that runs on batteries that you recharge.  The more batteries you have, the longer you can drive your car.  Keep reading for further facts on electric cars.

Another very advantageous fact about electric cars is that they emit virtually no greenhouse gases into the air and thus run much, much cleaner than many other vehicles.

How far can you drive on an electric car’s charge?  The good news is that electric cars are more than capable of driving 100 mils on a charge.  The batteries generally need charged overnight and there is a gauge that can tell you how much power you have left.  If you are the sort of driver that only uses the car for picking the kids up from school or going to the supermarket then you should be OK but if you are a sales rep or a taxi driver then you probably will want to avoid buying an electric car.

Some people believe that an electric car can’t go very fast. However it might shock you to find out that this myth is very much that, electric cars have been clocked at speeds of over 100 mph.

Of course, there is much more to electric cars than the facts detailed above, you will also want to learn about the prices, availability and their range.  It's not at all difficult to learn what these facts are.  Most car companies produce at least a hybrid type of electric car that runs on both gasoline and electricity, but you can also find total electric cars if you know where to look.  There are of course other types of fuel that are being used in cars such as biodiesel and bioethanol but there is so much debate about them all and whether or not that are effective.  What we know for sure is that scientists around the world are working very hard to come up with the perfect solution for our motoring and environmental needs.  If you would like further information on environmetally friendly cars then here are a couple of links: Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Ethanol as Fuel.
